mandrake 9.2 and 9800

Mandrake doesn't like my 9800. Red Hat works fine , but when i try to install mandrake i go to step up the video card manually b/c it doens't work auto. When i go to test my settings i always get errors. Is there a driver that would work straight from the install screen(no idea how to do it from the dos like thing) OR another disto that works with 9800. I don't like red hat that much.

I would look at slackware. It's only slightly less point & click than the other distros but I think it's a lot more stable. you can try a live cd version HERE and it's only about 180MB d/l so it won't take forever.
