Hey guys. I was looking over some fridges today for my dorm room and noticed that one cooled completely silent with absorption cooling. It said that it didn't have a compressor. Does anyone know about this type of cooling technique? Would this be a viable alternative to watercooling?

I did a quick search and found this useful description. It looks like it generates heat, but that can be located outside the box. It sounds like it would be quite complicated to build yourself, so ripping apart a fridge is probally the best idea. Size and cost is also something to worry about. A mini-fridge might have trouble keeping up with the constant heat production of a CPU. Putting a slow speed fan on the condenser might make a mini-fridge work.
