I just installed vantec aeroflow...

It outputs about the same level of noise as the stock intel hsf. Also, does it take a while for the thermal paste to kick in, since I haven't seen much of a temp drop?

The paste is the vantec one which came with the hsf.
With intel's hsf my idle temps were around 39 and load hovering around 55.

Now I fired up prime95, and after about an hour the load temps are around 52. Idle temp is 37.

you could try remounting the heatsink for improvement..
or reapplying a smaller amount of paste on the cpu (thinner is better)

Yeah it will take some time for the Paste to cure.

I recommend some Ceramique or AS5, tho, that stock stuff (Star?) is crap.

Yeah I know... The reason why I didn't order AS5 separately is because I heard that it comes with aeroflow... I guess it doesn't...

well on my 2600xp my temps droped from like 50*C idle 65+*C load
to 36-37*c idle and 41*C load

i know it sounds wrong but yea it doesnt go past 41*C i was running prime 95 for 24hrs when i tested it on the big tests too and nothin for the whole time it stayed the same
then i though hmm ill load it down more and started playing BF1942 it stayed at 41*C

but yea i just bought some AS5 here we will see if it drops the temp atall
