what does PLL-IC mean when it come to mobo?

i'm using a abit BH6 and am trying to overclock my celeron 600 to 1Ghz but sadly i don't seem to be able to do it. i heard that if i get this software called softFSB i might be able to get my CPU to run higher. now the problem is that when i want to use this program i need to know the PLL-IC on my motherboard. i have no freaking idea what izzit and that is a problem. anybody with abit bh6 knows what PLL-IC is please let me know. oh, i've also lost my mobo manual so that is another problem. thanx in advance.

I had your same problem with softfsb about pll-ic,but if you are going to o/c the cpu,the softfsb is not needed at all,,just use the mobo bios to bust up the CPU External Frequency cause the multiplier is stuck and can't be boosted with softfsb and mobo bios to,if you can't boost the pcu up to 600mhz or more, the matter is heat sinking of the cpu and a better one can make the difference.(i boosted my celeron 400 to 500 but i can't get more cause the poor cpu cooler i will try with a water based cooler,it's a very usefull tool

Please, what are your temps @full load?
I ask you coz Gorb it's good but, not enought sometimes for a so high O/C, try adding some case fan, or get a Fop38 or an Alpha Pep66.

oh, no worries, i've change my HSF to the FOP - 38 so temp. is okay for now though compared to others, mine is still a little at full load 48 - 53 C. i know that is hot but where i'm staying, the weather here is freaking hot. anyway i want to use the soft FSB is because my MoBo support 100 then 112 already. that is a rather large jump which my celey can't take. i still need to know what is PLL-IC on my Abit BH6 board. can somebody help.
