For a 1U server I'm currently looking for 40x40x20 mm fans with an output higher than 8 cfm.

Currently its running with fans from NIDEC, but I wanna add more oomph, as the SMB is reporting temps too close for comfort.

The alternative is better AC for the room, fat chance that'll happen.

Thanks for any help in advance

Cheers, Flix

If you can use a 40x40x28 fan, this one moves quite a bit of air for its size. It's very loud, though, as one would expect from a 10,000rpm fan.

I'm well aware that 40mm fans are noisy, but as stated, its a 1U server with slots dedicated for 40x40x20mm fans... and does so in a room for itself for that very reason.

This is 40mm x 50mm and will beat any 40mm fan on the market. It's $12 They can put out 18cfm-23cfm. If you want quiet run it at 7 volts, even at 7 volts it will decimate any Delta or any other 40mm fan on the market.

Did I forget to mention it has counter-rotating blades and its awesome.

I have one running at a quiet 6 volts and its the best 40mm fan on the market bar none.

Skyline graphics sells either model for $12, email them
