for a cpu i havent decided to go prescott or northwood yet, but its looking like northwood as the prescott doesnt seem to be the miracle chip.
but im ready to order so let me know what you think.

the comp i have now ill be giving to my nephew so i wont have the 9700 anymore.;)

I have the exact same config only 2.4 @259mhz fsb on zalman air. If you want to run your new machine 1:1 memory settings the corsair ram is very good, mine runs stable @259 with 2.5/4/4/5 settings. With the Mach1 setup you would want to pick a processor that hopefully would run at 245-260 for the 500mhz ram to be most effective. 3.0 NW = 3750 3.2= 4000 2.8 will run at 3.5 on air, check out Batboy's sig. If the processor will not run at 250 +- generaly the best way to go would be a little slower ram with tighter timings. the 500mhz ram does not like 5/4 setting.

so i should go with a 2.8 cpu or get pc3200? dont quite follow you but thats just because your speaking in a different language.
(computer language)

In a nutshell...

If you want to run a 1:1 ratio and ~250fsb, then get a 2.8C and PC4000.

If you'd rather shoot for 300fsb, then get a 2.4C and pair it with some PC3200 (If you're running a 3:2 ratio), or get PC3500/PC3700 with a 5:4 ratio.

If it were me, and I had a Mach1, I would go for the 3.0 or 3.2 and try to get to 4 ghz. If I did not have the Mach1 I would go for a 2.8 MO SL6Z5 on good air (Zalman-Swiftech)

i have the 3.2 in my basket at newegg
this one

Intel Pentium 4/ 3.2C GHz 800MHz FSB, 512K Cache, Hyper Threading Technology - Retail
Specification
Model: Intel Pentium 4 3.2C w/ Hyper Threading
Core: Northwood

should i get a different ram then the

Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series, (Twin Pack) 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-4000 with Platinum-Silver Heat Spreader - Retail
i would really like to try and get the 4.0ghz, i know its luck of the draw but a 3.8 or .9 stable would be pretty cool.

With the XMS 4000 you would probably never max it out with a 3.2. If you get a really good overclocking cpu then you will have the right ram for 1:1 setting. I would take a shot with that Mach1..........I also would get a swiftech northbridge chipset cooler model # MCX159-p and a vga silencer along with some heatsinks for the 9800pro.
