hello, my friend was @ my place last night and tried to o/c my computer. he o/ced from 2.8 to 3.0, and the timings on the ram were SPD, in 2.8 it was 2-3-2-6 and in 3.0 it became 2-4-4-8.
after he saw those timings my stupid friend changed them all to 2-3-2-6 and then comp didnt even boot :/
what i did to fix it was take 1 memory chip out of the comp, and then comp did boot. i entered bios and changed all to defaults and rebooted. after i saw all is working i put the memory chip back in place and everything is working.

can this may dmg the RAM? maybe lower its o/cing ability's?

tnx ahead.

Yeah as note said, it's part of the overclocking process... Trial and error. If it fails to boot just reset the cmos, and you're good to go
