Tips for good 3dmark scores?

I'm relatively new to benchmarking and I have been using 3dmark 2001 se. My scores have seemed a lillte low for my card and processor. I've seen some peoples scores with the same setup and they are blowing mine away. Do any of you guys know any tips or settings that help score better on these benchmarks?

great article, lots of info. thanks for the link. When I get home tonight I'll see what I can do! My best so far is 8440. I want to break 8500 and maybe get to 9000.

you might also wan to run the tests in a specific order.

since the first test that is run gets a good speed increase and the second a moderate increase i run them in this order:

lob1
lob2
car1
car2
drag1
drag2
nature

or:

car1
car2
lob1
lob2
drag1
drag2
nature

Do you not just run the full benchmark? I thought you had to run the full test to get a score.

No, only the first four game tests are needed.

Second link is not showing as a valid project.

And if you have not, get some good ram sinks and a good GPU cooler and OC the Ti200...I can run my Leadtek Ti200 at 245/535, so hopefully you will be able to run around there also and then you should see well above 10K

10,977 GF3 Ti200, so far this is the best score...but I also just got a new XP2500 and new memory, so that score should be broken here shortly.

I am planning on getting a new card soon and so I don't really want to invest anything into this card. The friend who gave me this card removed the ram heatsinks and so I have some limitations oc'ing the memory. the best it seems to run stable is 220\450.
