Did you try hitting the "Update" button?

Did you make sure your internet is up? Sorry if this seems a dumb suggestion to you, but I was having the same no server problem and it turned out my internet was down.

Another dumb question for you:

Do you run a firewall program? Sometimes when you update a program it will replace the exe file for that program and you may have allowed the old exe file access to the internet through your firewall and will need to tell your firewall to allow the new exe file access. It will not show any servers if the firewall is blocking it!

all good suggestions, thanks fellas. i'll try them out when i get off work.

i do use a firewall, ZoneAlarm, and i'll try disabling it or something.

it has a hard time working with programs that arent windowed. what i mean is that BF1942 isnt a program that you can just run on part of your screen and do other things elsewhere like IE or outlook. and when i run stuff like bf1942, ZoneAlarm has a hard time dealing with it correctly. i shoulda thought of that.

thanks again

You should be able to setup the following file for full access through Zone Alarm:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe

That should allow it to have full access!
