mail.com puts about 5 peices of spyware on your computer everytime you login! just FYI.

I signed up and apart from a few popups (I used IE since I knew i wouldn't get anything with firefox) I noticed no application prompting to install itself.

What exactly happened when you tried to login to mail.com?

Moslty because of the 100 or so ads on each page - they put tracking cookies on (if you let them  ). Doesn't happen for me - I got the firewall to deny all connections with *ads* in the URL or whatever so it's nice and ad free :)

Aah, that reminds me... havn't checked that account in about half a year...

.... yup... lots of spam and two emails :)

Havn't noticed the cookies... I don't accept 3rd party cookies, which means that they can track me about the same as they can through their webserver's access logs
