hello,

i want to waterchill via dehumdifier

i want to use somethin like this

http://www.georeviews.com/GoldStar-...idifier_L87610/

but its a 25/30 pint version. so i have no idea how cold its going to get. i do know it does have a compressor in it jus dont know what size.

with all the features of that dehumdifier how would i go about getting the compressor to run if it wont run witout the bucket in place and also if frost forms and whatnot?

also can someone post the link to the person who did a waterchiller using a dehumdifier lost it

the catch tank on a dehumidifier has nothing to do with temp.
i would try to find a used one if i were you.
the older ones that use r-12 refridgerant get colder then the current ones that use r-134a

they get water very cold to the point that you have to use antifreeze so the water doesnt freeze.
search the sight here for stuff and youll learn tons.

ok thanks for the input

i found one on ebay

FRIGIDAIRE 25 Pint DEHUMIDIFIER model #FDH25J

but how can i use the dehumdifier if it has protections like it wont turn on if the water container is not in place and stuff

Automatic Humidistat - Cycles Dehumifier On and Off To Automatically Maintain The Humidity Level Desired
° Automatic Signal Light - Signals When The Water Container Is Full
° Automatic Overflow Shutoff - Prevents Overflow of Water Container
° Large-Capacity Water Container Has a Handle for Easy Carrying and Emptyingd

any help greatly needed

do you already have a water cooled rig?
the auto shut off is as easy to bypass asputtinjg a piece of tape on something. youll see what it does when its in your hands.

helllo

thanks for helping out appreciate it
yes i do have a watercooling rig already

dangerden Maze4 on my a64 and DD maze4 on gpu
i got BIX and BIPro radiators in series to cool. ehiem i think 600GPH model 1260

i picked up the demudifier last night
was too tired to do anything

heres the sucker

i believe this is the condensor?
i left it running for like 15min and didnt get cold at all...
am i suppose to leave it long a long time b4 i can see frost?

P.S. sorry for quality
using my cam phone to take the shots

heres the shot of the compressor

another shot
this sucker is BIG

i dont see any other rad like radiator in there
just one

i thought it had to have refrig unit had to have a compressor, condensor, evaporator?

after removing the turbine

dehum11.jpg

i turned it on
and guess what

the left pipes going vertically is the condensor
it gets hot quickly
i guess the turbine was cooling the condensor so both was the same temperature

the right one gets cold QUICK after removing the turbine
and thats the evaporator

dehum10.jpg

how the hell am i suppose to separate that? and submerge it....

mine is not like that at all. i got 2 seperate radiators and one gets cold and one is for hot.
they are connected by the tiny copper wire thing but thats it.
im sure someone on here must know what it is your doing because i cant hardly see anything from the pics.

yes thats what made me get the dehumidifier
takes alot less space than the A/C
limited on space

and i saw yours

i buy mine and the condensor and evaporator is fused together

the evap cools the condensor thus the evap never gets cold

it does at first til the condensor gets wicked hot

#rotor... who makes yours n what model?

you need to get the older box shaped ugly ones.... these new ones are all screwy inside, not as easy to retrofit.

like this one...

if you can, look inside it, and if it has the coils, in stead of the evaporative radiator, it's much better too

That wire is actually the capillary tube for liquid to go from the condenser to the evaporator.

First thing you will have to do is cut or brake the evaporator from condenser and not brake the tubing that runs between them then make an insulated box that is water tight a cooler works good for this to set the evaporator in it. Then you will need to plum this instead of a heater core. Then you will have to insulate the water block and the hoses to keep condensation out from the motherboard. Then you will next get some antifreeze and distilled water and put it in it
