Which is better? The two together cause an instantanious lockup.

XPpro built in only you need to use .. for hackers

no need another firewall ....

I'd recommend Zone Alarm because it monitiors both incoming AND outgoing traffic. If a virus or spyware tries to phone home ZA will catch it. I believe XP's firewall only monitors incoming traffic, although in the upcoming SP2, it might be monitior incoming and outgoing traffic. All in all I'd definately recommend ZA.

Zone Alarm Pro is much better than regular Zone Alarm or XPpro's firewall. ZAPro is highly customizable you should check it out. The price of ZAPro is overshadowed by its customizability.

Router (NAT) > ZoneAlarm > Windows firewall


Some people use a router and zone alarm. The router keeps stuff from getting in and zone alarm prevents stuff from getting out. I just use a router
