AGP 4x on FX5950?!?

Yesterday i flashed my Leatek Winfast A350 LX with the A380 (FX5950U) bios.
worked like a charm! temps got like 10° lower and it ran perfectly without artifacts at 950 Mhz RAM clock (before i could only do 850).
I benchmarked it and got about 150 points less 3Dmark03 score than with the old bios although the ram was running 100Mhz up.

Then i noticed that the card was showing 4x AGP in the driver settings. Sandra showed me 4x too. This seemed strange.. maybe a readout error. So i flashed the old bios back.... 8x AGP!!!

Why ist the new one so crapy and only gives me 4x???
Btw the bios editor only shows me 4x AGP supportet on all bioses. Am i doing something wrong?

Someone have a better bios? I found thisa FX5950 bios here but im not shure if it is siuted for my card... vgabios doesnt work and im scared to flash it.

You need to go into your BIOS and see if you can change it back to 8x. What mobo do you have? And if you have it at 8X before and cant change it back to and are willing to flash the card again you should try the ClubOc bios flash. Worked great for me.

I did EXACTLY the same thing as desribed in the article, i even used the same freaking bios since my card is a leadtek.
I have tried to edit the bios but i havent managed to achieve enything so far. I installed a tool called X_BIOS Editor but i cannot seem to change much except some weird numbers. Not even the clock speds. Besindes that the bios editor tells me that only agp 4x is supported which is not true, i flashed my card back with the original bios and it runs 8x, every other systemtoll i used confirms this.
Have you got any expirience whith bios modificatios?

Btw i have the 8RDA+ rev.1.1

I dont do mods to Bioses but I flashed my bfg 5900 to the leadtek 5950 and I still have 8x and it works great. Is there a big difference in your 3Dmark01 or 03 score? I know that this sucks having this problem to for you.
