Looking for HSF for Athlon 1GHz

Howdy,

I'm in the process of replacing my current CPU heatsink/fan cause it is so freaking loud. My comp sits in the living room and it annoys me having to crank the TV to drown out the whirring.

I don't know of any way to mod my current heatsink to take a bigger fan(currently 60mm) and possibly quieter fan.

So basically I am looking for a new HSF with the following criteria.

1) Has to be quiet as possible. This is an absolute and I am willing to sacrifice a few degrees for this.

2) Has to use the three tab mounting system for the socket. I broke the middle tab off trying to put on another heatsink. Alternately, it could use the four holes around the socket.

3) Can't be too big. I have the Abit KT7A and the caps around the socket can cause trouble with certain sized heatsinks.

4) Preferably be able to get both sink and fan at the same location. Online ordering is cool but I don't want to have to order from two different vendors if I don't have to.

Thanks

Try the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu, it mounts through the motherboard holes. Not sure about Athlon though, I have an Athlon XP with one of these, very quiet.

Oh and if that is too big you could always cut some of the fins to make it fit right.
