Hey yall, I just finished building my system and am having trouble, of all things, getting an internet connection. My mobo comes with onboard 10/100/1000 lan and it is enabled in the bios (although the suboption "enable boot rom" is disabled by default - I'm not sure what this does). The problem is, the only LAN connections that show up in windows are my 2 firewire ports. How do I enable my ethernet port?

Thanks!!

(edit: if relevant, I have a cat6 connection from a cable modem through a wireless router)

yup, but if you havent installed any drivers for the mobo make sure you install the newest chipset drivers available from the manufacturers site

may as well get them all new, but chipset is most important
