I have come up with two lists one for a amd system one for a p4. I am not very smart when it comes to computer hardware so i would like some help if someone could check these lists and suggest any changes that should be made And what system you think would be best i dont play many games only one i do play is counter strike (dont we all haha) i am looking to make this omputer able to play cs with ease and yet still be able to take on a load of extreme graphi work suh as 3d renderings anyway thank you all in advance.

Well In the intel list the problem there is if you're gonna be using only one stick of XMS memory you'll be terriblly crippled running only single channel. And with AMD I would go with a mobile 2500 Barton and overclocking it. For 3D rendering I would go with Intel.

1. For 3D rendering (I agree with Tebore) I'd definitely opt for a Pentium 4. And go with two sticks of RAM so you can use Dual-Channel. 1Gig of RAM won't help in gaming, but it will make a difference when you're working with complex 3D programs like Maya or 3D studio.

2. You've picked a great heatsink, but it really doesn't need such a ridiculously loud fan. If you're going to be rendering for hours on end I really can't imagine anyone enjoying the sound of a Vantec Tornado 24/7.
Go with an adjustable Enermax or YS Tech Fan and put it on a 4-pin connection. You can drop it down to 30dBa and still get great cooling on that heatsink. And when you do finally overclock it can be driven upto 48dBa.

3. You'll save yourself alot of hassle (and money) if you try to limit yourself to one or two vendors. Newegg.com has everything you listed in their stock.

4. Get a reliable PSU. I recommend Sparkle, TTGI, or Antec

Ok so you both agree on the p4 for what i need the new system for so now i need to pick cooling out for it could use the same heatsink that the amd setup has or do you think something like a liquid cooling sytem or http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-106-028&catalog=62&depa=1 woudl be better? just asking cus i know rendering is going to make me heat up what i dont know is if i am going to be able to keep it cool.
