Thinking of getting a Ti4200 off ebay to replace fx5200

I'm thinking of getting an xfx ti 4200 off of ebay (the ti 4200s seem to be really cheap on there) to replace my 64-bit Chainteach fx5200. Yeah, I know I'm losing DX9 here, but the FX is a pretty poor card and from my reasearch, the Ti 4200 blows the FX 5200 away in all benchmarks. I know it's kinda weird to get a Ti 4200 instead of a radeon 9x00 of a better FX, but I don't have a lot of $$ to spend, so I'm pretty sure that if I'm getting a card, I'm gonna get a Ti 4200. My question is, which Ti 4200s OC the best? I'm looking at an xfx 4200 on ebay now for real cheap, and if it OCs well, that'd be great. Also, I've seen scores above 10K in 3dMark '01 for a Ti 4200. Is this correct? I get about 6K with my Fx 5200 at max (it won't run w/o artifact above 310/438, performance gets worse after 300 core). I'm looking to get some pretty decent OCs w/the ti, along w/way better performance, so any advice would be great. thanks in advance!

i got 14k with ti4200 128mb agp 8x 350/581
can get memory higher without voltage mode i use inno3d version
note core can go up to 380mhz without artifact i have got 14780 at 380/585
looking know to voltage mod my memory maybe it can go up to 400/700 i sould break 18k :) very happy with my card

Alright, that pretty much settles it. I'm getting a Ti 4200. Thanks for the info. I'll post my OC results when I get it (probably a week or so.)

The Ti4200 is an excellent vid card.

I know that a certain model of the Albatron overclocks very well as well as the Asus that I have in my sig. I got 16,732 in 3DMark2001se with my Ti4200.

maxima88 have u any voltage mode for the memory
i can get the core stable at 360 mhz but the memory refuse to go higher than 581(freeze...) at stock the video card have 250/500
so any help will be appresied

The Ti4200's are dope. I got a little more than a 12k score using one with out over clocking it at all. My 5900 fx is only 2k better. I wish I hadn't wasted my money. I got the MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 8xagp. Now, i have it modded and took off the stock fan and it has a AMD 3200+ stock fan on it.

As a side note, i believe the MSI cards have a limiter on them. I need to figure out how to disable that so I can clock the core above 300. That cooling on the card is mediocore at best.

Hmmm.. I was thinking of definitely getting the 5900 next month? But only 14k? My 4200 gets over 12k stock also.

Maybe i don't have the stuff set right on my 5900. I don't have the ultra though. I think it would do better if it was the ultra.

well...I think I'm getting an ASUS card...good choice? Anyone have an OC experience w/ an Asus ti 4200? It's not the 'deluxe' version, w/8x agp; it's got 4x.

My old Asus V8440 Ti4400 AGP4x would do 312/680 on the stock cooling before artifacts would set in.

On an old P4T533-C, P4 2.26B @ 2550 (150x17) and 512 MB PC800 RDRAM, the thing scored 13.2K.
