info on northbridge strap-ic7

i have some ram that that actually outruns my 2.4c(288 fsb). since im curious to know how fast it runs i changed the strap in my bios to 533 to bring up the 4/5 ratio, so i can max my ram. however the mb wont boot. is this a common bios issue?

Ive used the 4:5 divider for some testing (however only to 237 FSB since I'm using a "B" chip), without a problem, so its not the 4:5 divider as such, thats causing your problem.
I'm using the IC7-Max3.

BTW, what kind of ungodly memory are you using??

I can't boot with any boot strap other than auto or 800 with my "C" chips above 233. I hard hang like you do on both the IS7 and AI7.

Tried the last three bios as they came out. No joy. 4/5 would be cool to run with that Adata ram.
