Anyone know where to buy video games wholesale?

Ok... I don't know if this is out of line to ask here.

Well... I guess I have been thinking recently of starting something on the side for extra income. And I see ebay would be the best way to do it for me since I have sold stuff on the past on ebay and I know how to do it pretty easily.

I don't want to spend 8-20 dollars on some wholesale list on ebay that probably won't tell me what I need to know. Anyone know of a good site that has a list of directories or a ebook somewhere dealing with this? Thanks.

Not sure where you live... But here in Santa Ana there's a place called the GoodWill Computer Zone. There's also one in fullerton. I pick up games like Generals and WC3 there for $7.99 then make mucho $$ off them on eBay. Apperantly they get them from Target as tax write offs, then sell them insanely cheap ($3.99~$7.99). Might wanna check those places out if you in southern cali......

If you're talking new releases you're realistically only going to get a 10%-15% discount off of retail from legitimate distributors. For instance, if a game retails for $49.99, the best price you'll find will likely be around $41.00.

Anybody who says they can get them for you cheaper, is either looking to rip you off, or they're selling bootlegs or used games resealed, or the games were stolen to begin with. I'm talking about the guys who say, they can get you $50 games for $20 or $30. Deals like that don't exist.

The best solution would be to buy them from the manufacturer. The only way that is going to happen though is if you move A LOT of product as they will not deal with a few hundred $$ orders. If you are going to move $100,000 in product they may do business with you.

This is not a business you can do. A little guy like you would do better to start up a chain outlet for a store like Babbage's. I don't know if they do franchises or not, but there's no way for you to avoid the speed with which inventory ages. In a matter of weeks you can lose thousands of dollars on inventory because a game sells for $50, you buy at $41, and 2 weeks later Best Buy has it on special for $20 WITH some promo item that you could never get.

The only way to make some $$ with software is to sell niche software, like accounting packages, or closeout software, or something like that.

Nope, sorry. I think Goodwill itself has a website for auctioning off old expensive antiques and stuff, but nothing from the computer works.

There is always the "CD only" Ebay auctions. They come real cheap and are bare imports but they are legit....for the most part.... I wouldn't use them but you never know.
