New Laptop for 619.00 w/100 rebate

I was looking for an inexpensive laptop just to surf the net, and still found prices for 300-400 bucks, even in the 500-600 P3 range. I know Compaq isn't known for the best quality but check out what I just picked up for 619 bucks including the 100 rebate. I think that's a pretty darn good deal. I also found a 10% coupon online.

I guess you cant do better on Ebay right now. I remember at Christmas you could get new laptops for around $650-$750, but I think most of those were taking advantage of MIRs.

I've also spent lots of time on ebay searching for laptops. I don't think their prices were very good at all.

I got this right off the hp website. They were advertising Compaq laptops starting at 699.00 which included the 100 rebate and free shipping. I also found another online coupon for 10% off any laptop. The link is below:

http://www.discounts-coupons.com/HP_com_coupons/

Personally I thought it was a pretty good deal, for those who disagree I would very much appreciate your input on where I might find a better one. Thanks in advance!!!

I got a Toshiba lappy last year the day after Thanksgiving at Best Buy. Great deal on the laptop, but I'd never do it again.

I think I'll buy another laptop to write off on taxes for next year.

BTW, agreed on EBay, overpriced.

Ebay has some great deals if you look long enough.

I just got a HP laptop from there. XP-M 2400, 512 ram, 40 gig hdd, 15 inch xga, 54g wireless, firewire, only two weeks only so has about a year of warranty left. Paid 630 shipped.

You have to be patient, but it's possible to do well on ebat. Its also possible to get screwed.
