Sluggishness

Sluggish, delayed sounds? Could this be because I only have 512 mb of ram? Mainly in Unreal 2 ... any thoughts on this?

I play on 512mb RAM, and my gameplay is fine. that Mushkin 3200 is nice, I would think that it might be the server.

Only games that will really tax your ram is massive games like simcity and so on. You got everything tweaked pretty well? Could be a background program (virus scanner) making it sluggish.

im talking about single player, Unreal 2 ... Im thinking its something in windows, but nothing unusual is starting up, Ive got no active virus software, and I know its not a virus, no spyware or adware either ... what else could it be?

Could be a driver problem. Another thing to check is to make sure that Windows hasnt throttled your UDMA settings back to something slower. Whats your swap file set to? Have you defragged lately? Is it mainly when there are a lot of textures or sounds? Or I have seen this problem when overclocked too high and heat is an issue, sometimes when OC'ed high the heat builds up and things slow down.
