Hi there guys,

Iam new to all this overclocking..

My system:

M/borad: Abit IC7

Cpu: P4 2.4b (533) fsb (Stock fan)

Memory: Cosair XMS twin 3200LL 2 x 256 ddr400

P/s 550 watt

G/Card: Radeon 9500pro

Sound Card : Audigy 2

C/Lab: 6700 6.1.

Cheiftec Case withthe odd fan of two

Ive just overclock my system to 2.6. (144) 1500 core voltage

Now it seems to be o.k. at idle ..... and at running 3dmark2003 better marks than normal. From 3963 to 3719 at 42oc temps

But i was playing the painkiller demo seem o.k. and it all went tits up...

Black screen ... but booted up o.k. again. didnt have clear cmos

This has never happen before overclocking.

Do i need to change the Core votage ??? to 1525?

iam getting the same temps at standard 2.4. @ 38oc to 42oc

Sorry for silly thread . Helppppppppppppppppppppppp

It's with a Zaleman cooler. Tottaly stable for my use. Then again it's a backup, no real gaming on it or anything.

This should be in the Intel CPU section.

Sounds like you need to bump up the vcore a notch or two. Maybe try 1.55v since most IC7 mobos undervolt a tad. I do not recommend going above 1.6v with stock cooling and even with excellent cooling I would never run it above 1.7v. Make sure you have the PCI/AGP set to "fix" and "33/66", then disable the last two GAT settings in the Advanced Chipset menu.

I have a 2.4b running @ 3.3ghz. 1.65v w/droop mod on p4p800-d.
PAT/MAM options enabled and Turbo mode enabled.
