Okay, i know that most of my posts have been "low-level" dummy questions, but this one even puzzels one of my buddies. I have been OCing little by litle so as not to damage anything. Well, I have managed to get my CPU as high as 3.25 Ghz before it gave me the 'blue screen of death' (which leads to abother question), right now it is steadily running at 3.1+Ghz. Now I took the 3dmark01 test yesterday and scored higher than i did today after two mods. Here are the results:
Score: 1314

Date: 2004-03-20
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2700 MHz
GPU: NVIDIA Quadro FX Series
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000
Res: 1024x768 32bit

Score: 1310

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2835 MHz
GPU: NVIDIA Quadro FX Series
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000
Res: 1024x768 32bit

Score: 1306

What the heck is going on???????????????

It might be automaticly dropping your ram timings. Set your ram timinigs manually and not by SPD.

you sure you are using 3dmark01se? it looks to me that you are using 3dmark03. even a quadro should score better than that in 01se.

I'm positive that I'm using 01. It's the freebie file though. I cant publish my results for comparison yet. Unless I got something screwed up in the download. It starts out with the Truck game demo, then a dragon w/ village, then a nature , then some dragon merry go round.,

Also it's not "exactly" a Quadro, more of a GeForce FX 5200 w/ some RivaTuner Patching done. lol

Well, first off.... the difference in scores is only 8 points. That's well withing the margin of error. Sometimes I'll run 3Dmark2001 three times in a row and there is often more variation in my score than that. Try updating your vid card driver and see if you can O/C your vid card. Set the vid card settings to performance if you want higher benchmark scores.

What the heck is going on???????????????

whatever you have done with your driver hacking i would undo it..
your scores are a horror.......

Do you think I would have recieved a higher rting with the proper drivers?
because Iwondered about that. I haven't nooticed any change since I patched.
my 1ghz athlon and geforce 2 scored 3400 on 01se... you are at 1300...

Oh wow, I remember the days of a 3500 3dmark01 score! I had a PIII 700 @ 933 and a Voodoo 3 3000. I beleive that was the first benchmark I ever ran.

I have deffinately come to the conclusion that mylow score was because the benchmark was testing a 5200 at the Quadro 500 standards. Maybe if I reload my Vid drivers to default I will do a heck of a lot better. I'll be honest when I first saw the score I was scared and wanted to cry...not really cry but you get the point. lol:eek:
