Monitor + TV on a 9800Pro...

Here's the deal.

When I try to hook up a TV to my 9800Pro I get no picture at all untill I shut down the PC unplug the monitor and leave just the TV hooked up.

Is there any way to have both hooked up at same time with the same picture on monitor as TV? It's kinda hard to read stuff on a TV screen

Watching movies on a monitor is ok...but its much better on a 46" projection TV

Any ideas suggestion? Hollar if you guys need more details.

You have to enable the TV in the control pannel.

its under displays. First click the red button to turn it on. The select the circle for TV, which makes it primary and displays video, and then the square for the monitor, which is secondary.

Thats how to do it.

Is there a way to run extended desktop and video overlay with ATI cards? On my Nvidia card I could run extended desktop with video overlay so my TV just showed my background, and when I opened a movie it played full screen on my TV so I could still do stuff on my monitor. I can get it to overlay, but when I minimize wmp on my monitor it minimizes it on the TV too. I really liked being able to watch movies and TV eps on my TV while still doing stuff on my computer, as well as having an extended desktop to keep stuff on.

well, you have a couple of options there. If you are running 1024X768, you can extend your desktop to the secondary display (TV) and leave the video windowed but stretched manually to fit, drag it over to the TV and do whatever on your monitor unobstucted. Otherwise you need to go into display settings, advanced, overlay, and mess with the cloning options. There u can select theater mode and the video will display full screen on the tv but windowed on the monitor. Then of course you still have the problem of not being able to minimize it, but you can shrink the window down and just leave it in the background. That way you can have your web page or whatever you're working on in front of the vid window.. If you get cloning set up, it's pretty easy to switch back and forth from extended to cloning...
