i'll try to keep it short

it's an MMORPG, meaning there really isnt a story line to follow and no end game.

You will spend a lot of time at first just leveling up in whatever profession you choice. The game allocates 250 skill points to each player. You can then pick up mulitple professions and skill in each profession however you want. Each skill or novice profession block cost a set number of skill pts. It's a great system, cause you can give up your skill and redesign you character anyway you want. There are basic classes then elite ones which require certain requirements.

If you want to be a hunter/fighter, you will spend a lot of time hunting in groups for monsters on varies planets to gain xp. Running missions for credit or just going out and killing whatever you see. When you get high enough level or a good party your focus will turn more towards fighting high level/hard stuff for rare loot.

If you want to be a crafter, which many newbs dont start off at right away since the market is already pretty well established, a lot of your time will be spent surveying, rathering resources, and crafting items to get xp.

If you want to be an entertainer, you will spend a lot of time in a cantina playing music or dancing while chatting with people.

A lot of the more veteran player focus mainly on the PvP aspects of the game. To do so you can join either the rebel or imperial side. You can then declare your faction and then attack any other declared players of the opposite faction. PvP combat occurs everywhere you go. Sometimes this can cause be a bit of an annoynance given that there are immature players out there, but for the most part it's really a lot of fun. Sadly no real objective or reward is given by this, it's just about killing other players :)

Player guilds also go to war with one another. In a guild war, the two guilds can attack each other whenever and at any time. They still constantly attackable to each other. Pretty fun but you got to have a really good guild or the weaker guild will just get owned and players have been known to get locked inside a cloning center for hours :/

The great part of the game is you will meet a lot of people that you will make friends with, and a few you will hate sadly. A lot of guild have their on forum like this one for game discussion. It's kind of like AIM except you are playing a game at the same time. You can send emails, have chats, even go into chat rooms.
