I'm thinking about getting an NF7-S for the system that I'm going to build, but I've been reading about problems with its BIOS. Here are my questions:

1. What is the reason for updating the BIOS?

2. If I get the mobo to work in an overclocked system, how likely is it that the mobo will suddenly stop working if I do not mess with the BIOS any more than I already did?

Thanks

update the bios if you're having issues with compatibility or performance.

Once you get it working, it should be fine, as long as the board is a good one.

one reason for the bios is to add extra performance or possibly stability, tictacs d23 sub zero bios has been more stable than any Abit bios Ive used. And I have heard a few people getting NF7-S that go haywire but thats about the same probability as getting a DOA AthlonXP
