I was looking into getting a new AMD Mobile XP chip for my computer and found on the AMD site this info:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_756_3734^609,00.html
Now theres "Desktop Replacement (DTR) AMD Athlon™ XP-M Processor" and "Mainstream AMD Athlon™ XP-M Processor" and "Low Voltage Mobile AMD Athlon™ XP-M Processor" which one should i get? I'm looking at prices on 1800, 2200 and 2500xp chips.. I want to over clock the chip. Maybe if I got the 1800XP I would like to over clock it to 1.8 to 2.0GHz or maybe if I got the 2200 I would like to over clock it to 2.0 or 2.2GHz or maybe 2.4GHz on the 2500xp, but it really depends on what chip i can aford.
So do I have to be carefull in buying the "right" AMD Mobile chip or are the ones that go in desktop PCs all the same? Thanks.

I see that the 1900XP and 2000XP (low voltage version) have 512k of Cache, and the 2800XP (DTR) has that too. Does that make a big differece?

The best OCing mobies are the 1.45v (low voltage) CPU's...the 1.65v mobies are not OCing as well...

And yes...the extra 256 cache is like night and day when running most apps...

2400/2500/2600+ are the ones you want to look at.

I think the 2500 clocks the best followed by the 2400 and then the 2600.

But what 2500 ... the low voltage ones don't come that fast and the DTR ones as well as the MS ones come in 2500... :| which 2500 is best at OCing?
