What first

This is my first Pc build and i was wondering what the first think i just do?

With the motherboard RAm and SATA hard drive etc

MOBO NF7-S rev2.0

Geil (2x256MB) PC3200 Dual Chan DDR

80 GB Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 SATA 7200rpm UDMA150 8MB Cache

AMD Athlon "Mobile" XP2500-M (Socket A) CPU - OEM

NOt inlcuding thew building side just setting and BIos stuff, jumpers that kinda of think, i have a rough idea but need reasuring

Very first thing, make sure all your jumpers and wiring connections are properly hooked up, and that you can at least POST. Go through your manual and check it against BIOS settings, but don't attempt any OC'ing until you are up and running(OS installed). Make sure that what onboard stuff you are using is enabled, and any you aren't is disabled, to prevent conflicts when you install. The NF7-S is a pretty easy board to set up, so you shouldn't have any problems.

Just been reading hte manual and it seems pretty straigh forwar just alot of jumper and Dips and what not.


Just the anything to watch when dealing with Dual channle ram.

Solts 1 and 3 or 2 and 3 are for DC, 1 and 2 is SC.
