Yet another build question.....I really like the Lian Li PC-7 H case. Thing is, it looks a little small for a wc setup. Anyone use this case? and if so what equipment do you have in there? All I plan on having in there is one optical drive, MAYBE a floppy(i can do without the floppy if i need the space though), and two HDDs....My H2O stuff consists of Hydor L-30, JR-120, TC-4 CPU, and a maze 4 GPU...planning on 1/2 hoses too...think i can squeeze all that crap in this case?

Pics are most welcome if anyone has a setup in this case :)

thanks,
AC

wouldn't fit in mine so i decided to get an external box built. here is a render of it. these are being cut with a laser cutter and assemebled. marcello of lunagenlabs.com is making it and he sells them for $250 including ALL hardware except cpu blocks

it includes
the water box, brushed metal to match lian
mag3 pump
chevette core
1/2 id tubing
T-Line
250 watt powersupply with 2 external molexes
12v/7v switch for 120mm fans
clearflex tubing & clamps
laser cut motherboard tray back plane for tubes to go through so there is no mess

Looks nice, but i actually think I can fit all my stuff into this case now that i look at it. I finally found a pic of the inside of the case...I can remove the cage at the bottom front, and most if not all of the floppy/HDD trays...I can put my HDDs in the 5.25 bays and im only going to have 1 optical so that still leaves me a bay free for the future...Screw it Im gonna try it at least. If it doesnt fit ill just get another case that it WILL fit in LOL.

thanks,
AC

Hmmmm then again...now I wonder if fitting the gear in there will be the problem, or if the inlet on this case will be the problem...Im not sure those holes will allow enough flow through the radiator...Sheesh, why cant picking a case be easy? hehehe...

any ideas on the flow potential of this inlet?

thanks
AC

That's what I did :).

Admittedly, the stock intakes holes probably won't be enough to satiate the 120mm fans. I'll have to wait to see if it will severely hinder performance. Here's links to some of the more important pictures from the thread InvisGreenMan linked:

http://www.csl.mtu.edu/~neyoung/watercooling/DSC01196.jpg

And his results:

"Room temp: 26C
Case temp: 29C
CPU idle temp: 29C
CPU load temp: 33C after hours of DF"

with

"P4C 3.2ghz @ 3.8ghz
Mush Level2 3500 2-2-2-5-8 @ 238 1:1
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
ATI Retail 9800p 128 475/390
Dual WD Raptor HD's on RAID"

I also have a PC-65, and everything fits in here just fine. I put the radiator up at the top with a blowhole. My CD drives ended up sticking about 1/4" too far out of the front to leave room at the back for the radiator. Then I have the pump sitting under the hdd cage. It's a tight fit, but should work if you don't decide to go with the external box.
