Hi,
I have an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo, with AMD XP 2500+ Barton with 333 FSB and 1 x TwinMOS 512mb pc3200 ram.
Does anyone have the same components and suggest how to overclock this system?
I have a decent cpu heatsink and fan (recommended up to 3000+ or 3200+ can't remember), with 2 external fans, and am currently waiting for two front fans and a side panel fan. Arctic silver 5 thermal compound on cpu.

Any advice greatly appreciated :)

cheers,

start out with relaxed (optimal) memory timings, cranked ddr voltage and default cpu voltage. try the processor at 200x9 to be safe. bump up the fsb 5 mhz at a time, then back off until you find your highest stable fsb.
crank up the multi by .5 check the temps and stability. if temps are too high, stop now. errrrr.... don't stop, get more cooling. add more multi and Vcore until temps go too high or it's just plain unstable. then back off hair.

ps - when checking for stability (with prolonged 100% cpu usage) allow the cpu to cool to room temp before bumping up a notch, reason being that the AS5 needs to cycle from highest to lowest temp a couple times to reach max efficiency.

go in bios set fsb to 200 memory to by spd and memory timing to optimal set agpo frequency to 66 all ather set them to default setting desable fsb speed spect and agp speed spec

download motherboard monitor download prime and 3dmark 2001

run prime95 and 3dmark togther
if u run 20 time 3 dmark without crash u are fine
wath your temp they sould not excit 55c~50c for the cpu
if your are not stable go again to the bios and set vcore 1.675 and try again it should work
after u can increase the fsb more than 200
