I am new to AMD platform computer. Is the AMD64 3400 much better than the 3200, coz I see the price of the 3400 is more expensive than the 3200. (3400:287 pound; 3200: 197 pound)
Which one should I go for it?

3200+, unless your memory has trouble crossing 230, and you'd like to run 1:1. If you're going to continue to use your PC4000, the 3200+ would be the way to go, and you'd go about overclocking it very similarly to your P4.

Thank you Gautam;
3200 will save my money alot. I gonna buy a pc3500 MEM for my new AMD Platform. does the corsair 3500 have the problem?

I believe that that should be CH5-based. You'd probably get around 230MHz. A 3400+ would be a little nicer in this situation, as you could run 1:1. (220x11 or so) But you could aim for something 287*8.5=2443MHz at 5:4 for a 230MHz memory speed.
