Does anyone know if anyone has attempted to run mercury through their set up? Might be some limitations on what pumps you can use, but the specific heat of mercury should be better suited to cooling as it can hold more heat).

There have been many many many threads about this, and the general consensus is that it will not work under any practicle circumstances. Mercury is too heavy, poisonous and expensive to use in a WC loop.

Damn, I was thinking I should do a search on it before posting, but figured I'd be safe. Sorry about that.

Poison and expense were the two I knew about. Heavy just means I need a bigger pump

Mercury is some scarry stuff. Any leak with this stuff and you would not only destroy your comp, but endanger your health. It would take one hell of a pump to pump this stuff. I would say stay away from it.

Wow... I was thinking this exact same thing earlier today. Odd...

I didn't think it would be feasible to the average person though. First off, how would you even get that much mercury?

Seriously poisonous, I mean, even if you could get over all the other factors it would be to dangerous. It would look cool as hell though

There's about 40 threads that mention mercury, but about ten were specifically started about "I got this great idea!".
