Question DAT Troubles

I have an ARCHIVE Python 00367-XXX Dat tape drive.
My problem is it don't show up under My Computer.
Is it supposed to ?
Windows Backup sees it and I can use it.
That happens to be a sequental drive.
Is that the reason?

Thanks,
GimliHDC

Note: I run Windows XP Pro on a dual P166 with 128Mb ECC.

You may have the drive letter hidden. You can unhide it by using something like TweakXP (available from Microsoft).

Yep, I have installed over 200+ tape systems, none ever show up in my computer. You have to use some sort of software to access the data on the media. Each software formats the media differently.....

Now if I could get it to just span tapes.
Will finish one then tells me its full to put in a new tape.
I put in a new tape and tells me that that tape is full.
Or that its not the right media.
