Could OTP cause problems....?

Could OTP (Over-Temperature Protection) cause problems with how my BIOS reads my processor? SANDRA states that it is some form of CPU Throttle and could degrade performance.. however, on a more serious note, could it cause the BIOS to not be able to read my processor correctly? In that it calls it "Unknown CPU 2400+", and it is only reading 64k of L2 cache?

I'm too lazy to switch the jumper back right now to test it...

...but I'm curious if this has ever been brought up before?

That is odd. OPT will not cause these issues. and the CPU throttling can be disabled in the BIOS.
The motherboard isn't recognizing the CPU because it shows up with 64KB of cache. It could be that your CPU's chache is damged.
