I'm getting a 9800pro and I was wondering...

What is:
SMOOTHVISION™ 2.1
SMARTSHADER™ 2.1
HYPER Z™ III+
and TRUFORM™ 2.0?

Also, I know this is for the XT, but what is this overdrive I keep hearing about?

Thanks :D

In short, in english, these ATI marketing phrases have to do with image quality. It's coding specifically for ATI that cleans up image quality.

Overdrive is like ATI supported overclocking.

It's not just ATI supported, it's dynamic overclocking that actually works (unlike uGuru). It keeps the card at stock while no 3d apps are running, and overclocks it as high as it can without rasing the temps too much (the XT has a built in temp monitor, if you want SpeedFan will read it) and will reduce the OC if the temps get too high.

Bah! Overdrive sounds like a waste to me. Rather do my own overclocking. That way I have full control. :D And I wish newegg would F'ing ship my card already!!! :(
