Question need socket A mobo advice

ok i need some help with getting a board that will be easy to set up (its for my girlfriend), it needs to be reasonably cheap and not conflict with any of the other components she already has

saphirre 9600 xt

xp2200

infineon ddr 400 512mb single stick

onboard sound would be good but not essential as i have a 5.1 card i can give her

as far as overclocking is concerned its not a must do thing as i know very little about AMD boards....intel is more my bag

hope you guys can help btw thanx in advance

DFI ultra infinity or kt600. nf-7s and ultra infinitys are only worthwhile if you plan on overclocking. If you just want a solid, cheap board that performs well get the kt600. It can do everything that the other boards can do but without dual channel and overclocking features.

WOA!!! Pplz he wants somethign stable....NOT OCable (necessararly).

My vote is with VIA. VIA's KT600 is both cheap fast and most of all RELIABLE!!!

Alot of companies make KT600 chipsets.

My personaly favorite was Giga-bytes 7VT600-1394. It has everything that the NF7 does, but its much MUCH more reliable.

IMHO I'd look for a KT600 chipset from your favorite manufacterer: (MSI, Abit, Giga-byte, Asus........)
