TT Smartfan II coolmod requires unplugging power & HD LEDs?!

Just got a Thermaltake Smartfan II with the "coolmod" Apprently one pair of leds connects to the power led and the other one conects to the harddrive led Has anyone tried to connect them to other connectors? I'm thinking reset plug (no reset button on my case) and maybe sleep mode connector.

why would you connect it to them?

the connections are so it can power the leds, just dont use them lol. that or making a relay system that used the existing connections from the mobo would be a cool idea i use a volcano9 that uses this fan and i have the same problem

Its because the "coolmod" portion of the fan, changes colors dependant on HD being idle/etc. And temperatures. Makes sense that it plugs into the HD LED connector on the mb.
