Nanotherm vs. Arctic Silver

How good is Nanotherm?

I need an adhesive for my NB as well as a paste for the cpu. I saw nanotherm and was curious about it. I'll probably go with with arctic silver, but thought I'd ask.

ArcticSilver 5 is the reigning king of thermal compounds.

Does nanotherm even make an adheasive?

Well I did a little searching and found some reviews on Nanotherm PCM+ and it seems to perform quite well.

review 1

review 2

Price is equal to arctic and yes they make adhesive.

Also it's non-conductive.

I after I applied AS5 to my CPU and ran a day of stress tests while overclocking I noticed my cpu temp drop about 3°C. Not bad! Havent had any experience with nanotherm but it seems AS5 gets an almost unanimous vote

AS5 for aircooling, or AS Ceramique works well too.

Cheers!

PCM+ is UNLIKE their other products, you cannot base any conclusion by the hands of the reviews as they are about the compound, not the adhesive

the whole PCM+ story can be found in these forums

Last I knew, AS beat Nanotherm, and Ceramique was the way to go for non-conductivity. AS5 is the best thermal compound, Ceramique 2nd best, and AS3 and Nanotherm both competing for 3rd. I personally prefer Ceramique because it's goes on more evenly and isn't conductive. The benefits from AS5 are marginal.

I used nanotherm, and it was awful. I used for my southbridge HS and the thing fell off after a week. I did this three time, and finally got AS.
