nVidia's new board

I've been hearing all sorts of good things involving nVidia's new video card that is due out on like April 28th or so. The board is their GeForce 6800 Ultra. A review of it can be found at the ever-loving and ever-dependable AnandTech and the results look very promising.

My only worry is with the power requirements. Right now I'm running the system in my signature, with a total of six fans: Four 80mm ThermalTake SmartFans, and two 180mm generic fans that came with my SwiftTech WaterCooling kit. One Plextor 708A DVD burner, two WD Raptors, and one WD 80g drive. My PSU is an Antec TruePower 420. I don't think there's going to be a problem, but I wanted to hear from people who have more experience with PSUs abilities.

Yeah, i've read several reviews on that monster. I also peeped it here .

Not too many good shots, but you can see the different brands.

Freakin' awsome if I do say so myself But @ $499 retail for the flagship card and $399 for the lower end model, that's kinda steep for me I'm gonna have to play lotto more often now if i wanna get one.

Yeah, the price does hurt... I could imagine doing a ton of other things with five bills... But hey, when comparing the price to the compeditor's card, the ATi Radeon 9800XT, it seems MUCH more reasonable. Besides, the 9800XT was more than 500 bucks when it first came out. And no, I'm not talking about the little baby 9800XTs, I mean the mother of all cards, the Asus 9800XT.

The price on that is still only around 40-50 bucks less than the 6800 Ultra, yet is consistantly better on all the benchmarks at a lower clock rate. I can't wait till I get ahold of one if I decide on it, so I can start modding and OCing it.

May have to get a new waterblock to fit the new larger GPU, but maybe not... The ram I also wonder about... The monster HSF on the thing looks like it cools everything, not just the gpu/ram... I'll be able to post more on this subject if/when I decide to get one. If I do, It'll be posted in this threat.

Yes, people seem to forget that the 9800XT and Pro were just as expensive when those first came out. Just wait a little bit and it'll drop to an affordable level. By then the drivers will have everything perfected.

Here is a complete list of reviews on the GeForce 6800 Ultra.
