Hey, I'm new to intel and I might be trading my AMD rig for some kids IC7-g and 2.8 ht chip. I run sata drives and I have a question about how this works.

2 channel Serial ATA via South Bridge
2 channel Serial ATA via Silicon Image PCI Chip

Does this mean that only two of the sata ports run on an independant bus while the other two are on the pci 133mbps bus? How's this board handle compaired to the max3?

Would it be worth it trying to sell this board and just get a max3?

edit: I need sata, at least 3 ports and I just noticed that the max3 has no sata...

oh hmm. Maybe I was looking at the wrong board. Is it worth selling the ic7g-max2 for it though?

Edit: how's it handle differently through the southbridge and the Silicon Image PCI chip?
