I am about to purchase a new motherboard (CHAINTECH 865PE Model "9PJL2") which has 2 IDE ports (for up to 4 devices) as well as 2 SATA ports, and I was planning on buying a SATA hard drive and using it as primary drive and install Win XP on it, and use my current IDE hard drive as a secondary drive, just for mp3, pictures, ect and run all my games and apps off of the SATA drive.

Is this possible without a RAID card? If it is, will it effect either of the hard drives performance?

Thanks for your time.
