I have a Ti4200 that's a rebadged Prolink.
I got bored yesterday found a newer bios 4.25.00.37, The original is 4.25.00.34...
The new bios had the memory clocked at 400, the original is 500...

I've never been able to get good overclocks with it and the performance actually drops above 260/550...
I used X-Bios to set those speeds in the new bios...

After flashing the card gets very hot, the memory and the Caps(?), I had to use RivaTuner to turn the memory down to 530 to get rid of actifacting...

What in the bios could've caused this?!? Perhaps memory CAS?

I have'nt tried modifying the original bios yet to see what happens...

If it is a different CAS setting would the lower speeds be better?

Thanks...

^^^^ your card simply can not handle those speeds likely.

Your bets to use the original bios and up the speeds in it - a bios from anotehr card may have different settings in it.

Also, you should ALWAYS over clock your card first with rivatuner - find that sweet spot and then bios o/c.

my ti4600 can hit 750 on ram, but the sweet spot is 729 - @ 750 i get less performance.

I've been using RivaTuner to overclock for awhile...
The maximum was 290/570,,, with less performance like you mentioned... The "sweet spot" was 260/555...

Tha't why its strange... The new settings are 270/540...
The Commanche benchmark pretty musch stays the same now...
Nothing less than 46FPS which is better than it was so I'm OK with it...

Thanks...

Took a look at your site lastnight very good info...
It could've saved me a lot of leg work...
