how to run memtest

so which test should i use? Should i just let memtest auto run? meaning once its loaded it starts running by itself. should i just leave it?

my friend tested his memory using the extended test and he said he found crap loads of errors taht the standard test didnt find.

odd, sometimes when i run this test it works fine, others it just gives me repeating numbers in a black screen....as far as i know, just let it run.

Usually tests #5 and #6 will find errors on the memory. Try 100 loops of each.
