Summer jobs for college students

One job I had lined up this summer may not work out, so I'm considering Costco or Lowe's near my home. Does anyone work or have experience at these places to tell me if they're alright? How about construction?

I'm looking for a job this summer that pays roughly $12-14/hr. Preferrably outside and I also want nothing to do with computers during the summer.

The job I might have is driving a semi water truck on construction sites which involves getting a Class B drivers license which I have no problem in getting. If I could get a job like that that'd be cool. Otherwise I might look into working at Philmont Scout Ranch again (make peanuts but great place).

I'm open to other suggestions too.

Summer internship with a nearby pharmaceutical R&D company? The pay is in your range, but you'd need a computer to analyze your data. =T

Well I'm not terribly interested in internships. Outside is the key. I've heard construction guys get paid well....

Parents don't want me to drive tomato trucks this summer either. Good money but they worry for my safety.

My best friend works at Lowes and I think he started out at just around $10 an hour. Of course I'm sure its different out there.

I know your probably going home to Hollister but just in case your staying in davis.

There was a listing in the aggie earlier this week for grounds keepers and custodians during summer. My roomate might apply for one of them.

Also if you don't mind working inside too much I would look into the arc. I'm sure they are going to be losing lots of workers when summer hits. I have a few friends working there now, and they love it.

I also heard some rumors that the rec pool might need some summer life guards. But those are tuff jobs to get.

/me raises hand. What's the arc?

I'd rather go home to hollister (summer sucks here if you haven't done summer school once), but if the money points here to Davis, I'd consider it.

LOL The huge building that they just finished next to the rec hall.
(Athletic Recreation Center)

I agree with you on summer up here. Luckily I have yet to experience it.

Word of advice: avoid at all costs.

New Rec Hall building eh....

I looked in today's aggie but nothing in there. Think I'll keep an eye open when I go home next.
