21" Sony trinitron -- $240 shipped

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=4131197594

I just bought another one for some dual monitor action I bought my current one from this guy a little over a year ago. Monitor is great.
They are monitors that just came off of a 1 year lease. Nothing wrong with the screen. There was 1 or 2 scuff marks on the casing on my monitor but the screen is flawless.
Comes with a 1 year warranty.

These are VERY NICE monitors.

I bought a 21" IBM P260 from their website (surfplus.net) a while back for $285 shipped. I was very happy with the service and my monitor is great. It seems they still have that deal too.
http://www.surfplus.net/description.asp?prodID=252
The IBM has the trinitron tube as well, but somewhat better resolutions and refresh rate I believe. Either one is a steal, depending on how much you want to pay.

You couldn't even get a decent 17" LCD for this price. I would rather have this huge heavy beast to impress/scare my friends, not to mention better gaming and easier desktop use.

On may 20th ill have 2

All sony trinitrons are the same. If you see one that can run in a certain resolution yours can run in it as well. What is not mentioned it can run in that resolution at a LOWER refresh rate...

*Will stick with his 1600x1200 @ 100hz*

I own a P1110 and after a while of tweaking the Geometry I've been happy with it. After using a 21 Inch Monitor for a while it's hard to even look at a 15 Inch Monitor Haha. If anyone has any problems with the monitor let me know as I've mastered everything about it and all the settings. I paid $128 for mine and $40 I think?

1600x1200@100Hz? Correct me if I'm wrong but the max resfresh rate is 85Hz for 1600x1200. None the less great

I haven't had very much luck with refurb'ed Trinitrons off of Ebay. I bought a 21" off of Ebay for ~140 shipped about a year ago. In the last month, it will become extremely blurry after it's been on about an hour or so. The only way to fix it is to turn off the monitor and then turn it back on (very annoying when it happens in BF1942). Probably gonna use it for target practice with my potato gun after I get enough money to buy a good LCD.

And you call yourself an overclocker

According to the trinitron spec on sony site the tube is fully capable of running 1600x1200 @ 100hz and it does run at that been doing so for a year now. In the part in windows where it asks what refresh rate you wish to set take the check out of the box "Hide modes monitor cant display" or somthing of the sort.

The Deal has gotten better: $175 Buy-It-Now!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=4131197594

I've dealt with this seller & he is great. SilverSink Sam also recommends him. If Sam says he's good, He's really good.
I have a Sun/Sony 21 incher with the same Trinitron tube & it is every bit as good as everyone here is saying!
I'd say the only drawback is that the dang thing weighs 70 lb.

$175 + $65 s/h = $240 shipped

but worthy of a bump i suspect. regarding these huge @ss monitors, how much of a difference will i notice in my monthly electricity bill compared to using a 17" LCD? next year i have to pay for electricity in my apartment

My bad! I didn't look down to the shipping cost!
I'm a bit tired now: I went to work at 2:30AM this morning & made 1 trip to O"Hare Airport & 1 trip to Midway & traffic was HORRIBLE because of the rain! Sorry guys!

This seller is exceptional, I stated a while back buying from him on Ebay is usually better than his retail website for two reasons;
  • It's usually cheaper
  • 2nd on some items the warranty he offers on Ebay is longer what he offers from his site.

Either way, he ships very quick, packs the item with extreme care and is a very nice guy

PS as far as shipping costs, $65 is VERY reasonable considering the size and weight if the item. The box it arrives in barely makes it through a standard doorway. The guy also encases each monitor in 4"-6" thick foam

I also have an IBM P260 21" I got from surfplus and its wonderful. It came packeged very well and the monitor is in perfect condidtion. You cant beat the price! I think I like the P260 a little better because it comes n black. I just need another one to complement my dual CPUs

Nope, Doesn't work for me. True I can set the monitor higher then of the recommend specs, but you need to edit the .ini monitor driver file or use a program like Power Strip to do that. Please send me a link to the sony site stating it as I would like to look at it. I've tried doing it before and while it works, it seems to act strange at times so I've kept it at 85Hz.

Either way this is a great monitor and well worth the price I think personally. Sure there are better monitors out there but the price on this one is excellent or at least what I paid for.

*Edit* I would suggest going with this guy if SSS says he is a decent seller. The guy I bought it from did a HORRIBLE packing job and had to of taken the cardboard box from a dumpster or something because it I found a piece of BREAD in the box. Lol I should of taken a picture, but luckly there wasn't anything wrong with the monitor.

Great deal!

I was about to pay a similar amount for a 19" monitor. After getting in touch with the seller, he said that each of the monitors is inspected by their engineer and they are fresh off of a lease. He also said that they are in a very clean condition.

THAT IS A GOOD DEAL, But it should be noted that particular monitor has a scratch on the screen

If you were smart you would get this P202 (White) for $200 Buy it Now and FREE SHIPPING. You get a near perfect monitor and its cheaper when you factor in shipping than the black damaged one
