Cable Modem and Digital Cable box on same Outlet?

Hi,

I want to somehow have a digtal cable box and my cable modem coming off the same outlet in my office.
The thing I wanted to know is does this really affect the way in which the internet will work.
Will the speeds be affected or will it not matter?
Can you buy splitters for this reason in the shops or can i just splice them together?
If anyone could let me know what they think that would be great.
Cheers.
Malcolm.

It should work just fine, and any low loss splitter will do just fine. If you have a good signal at that outlet, you should have no problem splitting it to 2 components.

Ditto. Comcast digital cable/High speed internet directions just show a simple splitter. Nothing fancy about it.

I used an old piece'o'crap RadioShack splitter of 1980's vintage. I never had any problems with TV or with internet. Both were high quality. I don't know about the frequencies, but it was a piece of junk and it worked fine.
