1.28GB Single Channle or 1GB Dual Channel

This would be for an nfroce2 mobo. Its scary how games like far cry are already recommending 1gb of mem. Will not using dual channel kill bandwith alot? ive always wondered about this.

I'd probably opt for the DC myself; it will give you an equivalent to about 5-10MHz of a higher overclock. More memory is always great for the demanding games, but I doubt there'd be much of a difference between 1.2 gigs and 1 gig.

1g dual channel. 1g is easily enough for you, plus dual channel is faster.

I don't know about others, but when I multitask on my system I feel that it's more responsive with dual channel than in single channel. I bet even if the CPU can't really use the extra overhead the chipset puts it to good use like for the LAN controller or IDE controllers.
