You will see faster chips with the 3500+, 3700+, and 3800+ A64's, but you will also see high prices. The prospects of a lower priced A64 is more appealing to alot more users then that of a higher priced model.

1.6GHz - 2.4GHz (2600+ to 3400+) Newcastle (512KB L2) S754 CPU's are now becoming available, giving many their choice of speed/cost in S754.

Thank god a $100 cpu i can afford, tho id rather have a cpu with 1mb l2 cache then one with 512k for half the price. so i im still ganna pay $250 for the 3200+ with 1mb L2

well that extra 512K of L2 cache is only gonna fetch u about 4-5% performace gain? Is it really worth the extra 100 bucks for it?

Yea, Its just like the bartons and Tbred's I thought the extra $40 at the time when i got this cpu was worth it.

are the 64 bit processors really worthwhile without an os at 64bit? or games at 64bit?.. im going to build a new system and i was thinking aboout an athlon 64 but was told by a lot of ppl not to do it until there is an os and price comes down a little...

Yea the memory bandwidth alone is reason to buy them over an AXP system.

20% diff in performance in games.
