Testing system performance levels

I was wondering what do i use to test how fast my system is? I've used Sandra so far - is that good for testing system performance levels? Or something else better (3DMark?). Also, where do i get them from - prefer something that i don't need to pay anything.

here's where you can find 3D Marks theres a free one there to use. i use 3D Marks 2001 S.E.

good luck and post back how it does and your system spec's

Ok, thanks! Any others to use or is that the most common/best one?

Why not use 3DMArk2003?

I use Sandra, 3dmark2k1 SE, and Aquamark to test my system.

3dmark2003 is mainly for graphic card performance. Not to mention all of the cheating going on with it

never tried aquamark, is it reliable performance bench?

What do you mean all the cheating going on with it. The software or people cheating? How does/can one cheat?

I use 2001 S.E. since at the time thats what most people wher using at the time. so id have more to compair it to.

Cheating - people will say they scored more than they did , or they will take a screen shot and edit it
