2D scenes Question.

How come PC games don't smooth out their 2D Videos? From what I have experienced they just set the videos to full screne and I can see the pixels. If there's a way to smooth out the videos, that'll be great.

I think you'd have to ask the video game developer that question since they decided what cut scenes and video intros to put in thier game. If I had to make a guess id say cost probably plays a big part....also it could be as simple as the fact that hiquality video scenes would probably fill up the game CD when they need the space for game code.

to have a movie would require alot of hdd space, so they use low quality videos to save space. But with newer games, and newer hardware, these same scenes can be rendered real time, using actual game scenes so that the only thing that would requite more spece for a cut-scene is the audio. and like 5k worth of scripting.

Look at the quake3 intro, then play farcry. you will see what i mean.

But there is a game that uses a nice high quality video for its intro. Nexagon Deathmatch.
